What is carpet whipping/binding?
Carpet binding also known as carpet whipping; is the process in which an offcut of carpet is put through our whipping machine to finish off the edges. This process can transform any offcut of carpet into a rug whilst preventing the carpet from fraying. The binding sits on the very edge of the carpet and does not add any size onto the carpet.
Whether it's a little doormat you want done, some stair runners or a large floor covering. Our workshop can facilitate carpets up to 4m x 4m. Larger pieces take a few days longer for us to bind.
Can you cut my offcuts to size?
If your carpet needs straightening up or cut to size but you can't or don't want to do it yourself, then we can do it for you at no additional charge.
Not only can we do normal doormats and typical rectangular/square shaped carpets, we can also do circles and other shapes too. Including car mats, caravan and boat sets.
How much does it cost?
For a quote over the phone, please have to hand the sizes that you would require. For bespoke caravan and boat sets, we would need to physically see the job first.
There aren't many types of carpet that we can't whip. If you're unsure as to whether or not we can bind your carpet then please contact us.
We offer our carpet binding service all around the South West, it's not just carpet binding Plymouth. People from all over the South West bring their carpets into us for the edges to be bound. If you're not local, you can use a courier to send them into us. Once completed, we can arrange a courier to deliver them back to you.
Our carpet binding service is also available for business to business custom.
Please note: we do not accept used carpet. Used carpet can damage our whipping machine.
